Hygienist Trishna’s Sensitive Toothpaste Tips….

Tooth sensitivity is one of the most common dental problems and can range from getting a mild twinge to severe discomfort that can last several hours.

Keep in mind the following tips  if you suffer from the problem and start using sensitive toothpaste:

  • Don’t rinse after brushing for at least 30 minutes. This allows a thin coating of toothpaste to remain on the teeth and provide the relief it is designed to give you.

  • Use the toothpaste like an ointment for particularly sensitive teeth. Simply use a pea sized amount of the past and rub onto the affected tooth surface. This can be done at any time even if its a different time to brushing to provide extra relief.

Remember these toothpastes can take anything from a few days to several weeks to take effect so use the toothpaste long term and experiment with different brands till you find the one which works for you.
