Composite Resin Bonding – what is it? And can I have it done at Hello Dental, Colchester?
Composite bonding is the process of applying a material called dental composite or composite resin to the teeth to improve the appearance and aesthetic.
Composite bonding is different from veneers. Veneers are made from porcelain and cover the whole front of a tooth. A veneer requires your tooth to be reduced to make room for the veneer and requires the services of a laboratory to make the veneer. Composite bonding can be done in one visit with the dentist and doesn’t require any laboratory intervention or fees. Composite bonding also doesn’t require your own tooth surface to be reduced as it would with a veneer. Although veneers have their place, for example, if a patient has damaged their own tooth, composite bonding gives a good result without the need for a second visit and reduction of your tooth surface.
Below is an example of composite bonding carried out by Neel, at Hello Dental. The upper four front teeth have had composite material applied to improve the appearance.
Here at Hello Dental, Colchester we offer composite bonding with all our dentists who all enjoy improving the aesthetic of your teeth and improving your smile.
We often get asked here at Hello Dental, Colchester are my teeth suitable for composite bonding? Bonding is all about selecting the right patient for the procedure. Not everyone is suitable, and your dentist will need to assess your mouth fully to determine whether you are suitable for the treatment. That said, most people are suitable for composite bonding. Please do not hesitate to ask at reception if this is something you would be interested in.
