Can you have dental implants if you are a smoker?

Dental Implants are possible for smokers. Like with any patient looking to have Dental implants we would carry out a full examination including x-rays and scans to check the suitability for dental implants.

However, you must be made aware that those who smoke are known to have an increased chance of complications and possible implant failure.

Smoking can also reduce the healing process after implant surgery and can affect the integration of the implant to the bone itself.

If you are looking for Private dentistry in Colchester or would like further information about dental implants, we are holding an open event on Wednesday 6th February 2019.
